Introduction
The ToDoProject Project is a proposed open source project under the Eclipse Technology Project.
This proposal is in the Project Proposal Phase (as defined in the Eclipse Development Process document) and is written to declare its intent and scope. This proposal is written to solicit additional participation and input from the Eclipse community. You are invited to comment on and/or join the project. Please send all feedback to the newsgroup .
Background
There is in Eclipse no integrative organizer functionality now. If you have to define a date or meeting or important appointment you can only do that local on your machine. If you want to have a reminder or notification at the mobile phone, you have to write them twice: once extra in the mobile device. Moreover local stored events can be read only on one computer, and if there is more when one, and you have to manage each of them manually separately. It is very strenuous and fault-prone.
With the ToDoRegister it is easy. You can check-in, check-out and edit the events and appointments from anywhere in plugged Google Calendar.
In case of network interruption the actual events are still available on the computer and can be edited and synchronized with main Calendar later. The Reminder SMS will be delivered independent from that. It is one possible step of integration between Eclipse and mobile telephones.
Scope
The objectives of the ToDoRegister project are to build an End-User Tool for connection between Eclipse IDE and Google Calendar for simple and flexible events management with Reminder through SMS.Description
ToDoRegister is the tool for everyone. End-User and developers can benefit by its adjuvant functionality to organize their appointments and be recalled those.
Proposed Components
ToDoRegister is one very small project. Therefore only few possible components can be defined: UI-Module (interaction with the user), Communication Module (date transfer and interaction with Google Calendar) and Storing Module (sore of the loaded and modified data). The collaboration between modules based on API.
Relationship with other Eclipse Projects
No extra collaboration between other Eclipse Projects is destined. Maybe with the later versions and enlargement of the project scope came a tightly collaboration with other projects.
